Glasgow Central Station - Visitor Guide

Glasgow Central Station is managed by Network Rail and is the largest and busiest railway station in Scotland. It is the northern terminus of the West Coast Main Line and provides inter-city connections between Glasgow and the national rail ways of England.

The station operates a service to Edinburgh, however the principal station for trains to Scotland's capital is Glasgow's other railway station, Glasgow Queen Street.

Glasgow Central Station is the second busiest station in Great Britain outside London, after Birmingham New Street and serves more than 38 million people annually. The station first opened to passengers on 31 July 1879 when it was run by the Caledonian Railway.
